Welcome to our 23rd MCC Anniversary. We have had wonderful discussions at the Thursday night Study and also the Friday night study; it was looking back, at how the goodness of the LORD has carried us through these past 23 years. Many people have come and gone. Many supporters, individuals and churches, have come and gone. Many MCC workers have come and gone. But we are still here. We have spread the gospel far and wide, and reached the shores of other countries. Our longest ministry is the house of Hope, also 23 years. We have a number of people with us for 22 and 23 years. Many adults have been with MCC from 12 to 17 years. We have 9 people currently undergoing baptisms, 6 males and 3 females. Apart from the MCC Thursday night study, the next longest study is from Eversley since 2003. I used to say to the Eversley people; see you when I see you. I can now say…see you on Sunday. I have had only one Music Director for almost 21 years. 2 Accountants in 23 years; one for 21 years. So we are very blessed to have a stable leadership, with 2 Elders. Tola judged Israel for 23 years and then he died Judges 10: 1. I do hope that the LORD will grant me many, many more years than Tola did in serving the LORD. One of the things, perhaps from a personal perspective, is what a privilege it is to serve the LORD Jesus in MCC. It is a wonderful thing to know, within you, that you are living your dream. And my dream, like everyone’s dream should be, is to be content in the service of the LORD. These dreams are not fulfilled in a year or two, but it takes decades, of testing, refining, the furnace, trials, hardships and stress, to know that the LORD has called you, to a specific task in life. Most people do not have that. They do things for a year or two, then move on, or move back to the world, or a lukewarm walk with the LORD. But to know the LORD Jesus is using you, actively, every single day for every single year of your life, is fulfilling. Yes, there are hardships and tears, heartbreaks and disappointments with leaders and members, but it is all worth it, when you see people follow you, as you follow Christ. Perhaps, that is the greatest blessing you could ever have, is to be a leader of the people of God, the sheep of our LORD Jesus. May the LORD challenge you, to be used by him, to faithfully, without stopping, to lead his people. Onwards to the 24th year. Stay blessed.
