Begging God…..

Life is complicated. Christianity and your walk with God is very complex. We can find answers to some issues, but they in themselves do not solve a point of contention, but rather exacerbate it. Take for instance a talk I was having re John 20: 27; stop doubting and believe. It is a fact; there comes a point of time, when you have enough facts, to make a decision. So decide. No more sitting on the fence. Decide. And what if you have all the facts you need, you know you must decide, but a) can’t; b) won’t? What happens next? You are driving yourself around the bend, by not deciding. Mental self-harm; you know it, but feel powerless against the forces of nature. You read about Abraham praying, asking for God’s mercy on saving a place from destruction. Gen 18: 24 if 50 righteous found, and all the way down to 19 righteous, Sodom will not be destroyed. But there was not. Sodom destroyed. Jer 5: 1, try to find ONE righteous person, so city was not destroyed. Couldn’t be found, city destroyed. Ex 14: 15- stop praying, do some action. A rebuke from God re prayer. Neither Moses, nor Abraham, nor Jerimiah could affect anything of what God had decided to do. Then we have Amos 2:1- please stop God- Verse 3 ok, I stop. Chapter 7: 5- pls stop God; ok, I will says God. So, the big three couldn’t stop God, yet Amos’ prayer, the LORD relented. What is it that you want? I am not talking of money, rice or other pagan things Mth 6:31-32. I am talking about deep inner struggles. Only you and God know about them. You have all the Scriptures, you know them all, you seen it in others’ lives, advised others countless times, yet you yourself are in the middle of your private one-man-war. And you pray, pray, pray- and you say, why the “big 3” were told basically, simply, keep quiet, move on, I will destroy” and little Amos, could change God’s mind (so to speak, but not really, is it was God’s plan from the start to use Amos’ prayer, not the others’ prayers- got it). Paul answers this complexity with Rom 7: 2. Whereas Jeremiah 10:19 says this is my sickness and I must endure it. There is a Scripture to back up any position/viewpoint that you want in Scripture. It almost rings the words of Festus- Acts 26:24; your learning is driving you insane. I get the point. Now, back to the issue. For me, a solution- keep your wars to yourself. Don’t affect anyone by your wars. The LORD will bring an answer in his time. Will it be an end to the difficult as in Amos? Will it be you cant stop what will happen as in the “big three”. Only God knows. Ours, is to fight the good fight…next battle pls…
