Choices or Decisions…..

How do we base our decisions? Is it what we want? What if it is not what we want, but we do it anyway? Decisions that we make, may not be what we choose; not our choice, but we decide to do it anyway. Samuel chose not to like, what the people wanted, but did it anyway, in obedience to God. 1 Sam 8: 6-7. Sometimes we can be displeased with what people ask of us, we choose not to do or want something, but then, we are put into a position where we must comply, as we have no choice but to comply. Not our choice, but decision is to comply. All over are signs, say no to drugs, say no to drugs…then the exception clause; except the drug we command you to take. Choices are gone. Aaron’s choice, and decision, was to comply with what the people wanted Ex 32: 2,3ff. He complied; Ex 32: 21 Moses was not impressed. Sometimes, we choose not to do something, we do not want it, but then comply because of Jer 29: 5, 7. It is required, to settle into a way of life, alien to us. Freedom and captivity, now exchange places. It’s all in how we think. Freedom is, you choose what you put into your body. A prisoner is; you have no choice of what you are commanded to put into your body. Does it cross, “the Mark? “No buying or selling, without the arm mark, with its paper? Of course not. The Mark is a way of thinking. Who is it in obedience to? Let the god of the nation think he is a god. But we choose, to decide to obey God. And that may well mean, your choice is not your choice, but it is your decision to obey; obey God Rom 6: 18; not obey Babylon, the captive nation. Yes, with grumbling, with anger even. But then, a prisoner, in captivity, does not have a choice- they comply. Putting aside the human right, and submitting to the divine right. Either way the thing is complied with, but is it because of fear? Probably 95% comply due to no faith or weak faith. The other few % comply as it is accordance to the divine right, slave to righteousness; build houses, plant fields, obey laws; compliance comes due to fear of God. So we see, the end result is the same, compliance. One out of fear for self, faithless. One out of fear for God, righteous. Babylon is calling; comply, comply. Obey in Babylon or go to Egypt Jer 42: 14; One prison, will set you free, the other prison will destroy you. It is my choice, if I must, to decide to stay in the prison God put me in, rather than the free human right of my own land. Choose and decide. Be careful - why.
