Correction of Errors.....

MCLC is now in its 10th Year. 9 of those years were just normal school years. This abnormal school year has no face to face teaching contact with kids. And what is common in all these years? 3 sets of parents threaten to take us to Dep Ed. Another parent comes to school and verbally abuses a teacher. Another parent steals funds of parents which I “had” to replace. But of these 5 different instances, only one had the conviction and the courage to come to the school and apologise for his disgraceful behaviour, and online also with chat group. All people know what is going on. Sometimes it feels like the Teachers are a punching bag for the frustrations of the parents, being also not free to work as they have to be at home with the kids. Husbands not controlling themselves, not controlling their wives, or their kids. And of course vice a versa. And in all this, the teachers are not treated well, they are not respected. They are treated with contempt. This is most sad. So, an incident happened this week. I was informed of it. I went to the office. I found out about the issue. I walked back to church, and there was the parent that raised his voice, said cruel things via chat group to a Teacher. He wanted to talk to me. From the time of the incident, to the time I found out, to coming to MCLC, seeing me, and talking to me. Sin. Conviction. Action to correct the error. On one side a Teacher in tears. On the other side a person dealing with their sin quickly. For me, my heart goes out 100% to the teacher. I too have been abused, so I know the hurt and pain. My Christian heart though was very impressed, that a person without any outward side of Christianity, can respond so quickly to their conscience. “You have done wrong” Rom 2: 15. What struck me was the turnaround time of “error” to the “correction” of the error. Even most Christians do not repent that fast - that’s sad. Most Christians I know take months, if not years, to repent and many times do not repent until they are caught. Lie, steal, cheat, live in sin - no repentance immediately. If ever. But this man really gave me hope, that when the LORD wants to open people’s eyes to their sin Is 65: 1, he will open their eyes, and the person will quickly respond. This man had no idea he was living Rom 2: 4. Yet, it was God’s kindness that led him to ask an apology from the Teacher, due to God’s kindness not only to the man, but also to the Teacher so that she would calm down, knowing the LORD was with her. Kindness of God can be shown many ways. I felt - how gracious God is to the teacher - a quick dealing of the situation. How amazing it is that any person at any time can respond to God, even if they have no idea how God moves minds to do what he wants done. Just respond quickly to the situation as required, so we can move on. Never dwell in the past. It will destroy you. But sin is also against, and primarily against God, Is 51: 4. But it also involves the party offended Lk 15:21 - his earthly father and heaven, his spiritual father. Repentance must be to both. Human compassion is very noble. Honourable human behaviour is noble. But without the spiritual component it has no eternal value.
