Life is always full of surprises. People come and people go. Was talking with someone this morning how change is very stressful. Why? Because we are used to people around us. And we get used to people. They leave us and the closer we are to them, the more it hurts us that they are leaving. We all see things as we want to. We all say we hear from God. And all of us believe our decisions are from God. But, when our decision is actually against what God says, how do we justify this to ourselves? Gen 2:24 a man leave mother and father. But they don't. They run back to mother and father. I don't get it. I just don't. In all things we need organisation. Where we live. Where we work. Leaving somewhere to go somewhere. It all requires some level of organisation. Luke 9:14 Jesus told them to sit down in groups of 50. Organised. Count the cost. Sit down and organise finances. Luke 14:28-29. We need to think about where we go. Work. Income. Job security is such a precious thing. The days of drifting, inconsistencies should give way to decisions based on stability. Oh, stability is so precious. It should be one of the main factors in organising our lives. God is everywhere. Souls to be saved are everywhere. Not in one place. Many many years ago I had a choice. Serve God. Where? Sindangan, Palawan, or Cebu. I chose Cebu. Why? Because better hospitals. I did not say..oh.. cebu needs saving. Palawan needs saving. Sindangan needs saving. No. All need saving. I chose cebu for a very practical reason. Hospitals. Organising your life should also include practical things. Too spiritually minded of no earthly use. Too earthly minded, of no spiritual use. There must be a balance in organising our lives. And as Christians we have a much greater responsibility. To organise our lives as much as possible based on God's word and common sense. A stable job is hard to find. Relationships are hard to make. Takes years. Life is so difficult. Life is so temporary. Uprooting. Leaving. Tearing down all we emotionally invested in is very very hard. We can actually drive ourselves into loneliness and despair by uprooting. For me, I placed my roots down, finally, 28 years ago. And that's enough for me. I am at the place I want to be at. Still looking for a change in circumstances, but not a change in places. Be organised. Know what you want.
