Sunday 18 May

So many things, for adults to process. Right from wrong. Theology. Discussions. Being Firm. At his point, I would like to discuss Leadership. What is Leadership? As we are in Christianity, I approach the topic Leadership, from a Biblical Perspective. The world can deal with the topic from its own perspective.

Simple, a Leader, Biblically, is a shepherd. In control of the sheep. And a shepherd, never, ever abandons the sheep. Ever. The true shepherd, always, always puts the sheep first. Even when the shepherd is tired (me); discouraged (me); sick (me); slandered (me), question God’s ways (me), a true shepherd, never abandons the sheep John 10: 11-12. As this is primarily about Jesus, it also reflects true shepherds in ministry (you).

They do not abandon their sheep. Ever.

1 Sam 17: 34-37 David battled lions and bears. He gave his life for his sheep. False shepherds, do not for one minute reflect on the consequences of their abandonment of their sheep. They do not care. They just walk away, abandon the sheep, and like brute beasts, they try to drag sheep with them. They are self centred.

2 Peter 2: 12-14 Brute beats. Jesus- wolves. David, lion and the bear. People who seek to devour the flock, do not know how to just- walk away. They are loud voices, howling in the night- today we call that -FB- howling in the night to rip sheep away, to follow their own friendly wolf packs. Howling packs of destructive wolves.

True shepherds, stand strong. They stand against the howling wolves. Yes, sadly, some sheep will be lost, lambs. Yes. But then again we look to Scripture- whoever causes a little one to be harmed, by abandoning God’s lambs; Jesus said, tie a mill stone around your neck – and drown. Mth 18: 6.

A single wolf, creates a bit of damage to the flock.

A pack of wolves, create a lot of damage to the lambs.

But make no mistake about it, the True Shepherd, Jesus Christ, will and is able to handle these wolves. In his time. In his way. I have always said God is not in a hurry to pay people back.

It took Joseph’s brothers, over 17 to 20 years, to realize their error. Sadly, I will be dead by then. Sad.

But God will either destroy the wolves, or cause them to reflect and repent.

Shepherds, help one another to look after the lambs and sheep, as Jesus said to Peter, after Peter denied and repented.

Shepherds, Jesus said to Peter, after you denied me, go in your wilderness, come back, strengthen your brothers.

God always restores repentant shepherds, who made errors. The only question is, do they see the errors, and can they see.

And is the damage they caused, reversable.

True shepherds, do not need to "pray about it". True shepherds, love their lambs.

True shepherds handle the wind, sleet, snow, storm- and their focus is not themselves, it is ALWAYS the lambs

Never abandon God’s lambs, or sheep. Fatal mistake.
