I was very encouraged recently when someone told me...I enjoy reading your SNLs.
They keep me going.
I am grateful for that comment.
I actually almost get zero comments on my SNL. I often wonder...does anyone actually read them?
I know at least 3 who do...so I keep on writing them.
I try to deal with issues that are happening in my life, and in MCC.
Recently I have had several people send me long texts...and I admit..I really don't bother with the texts. Why? Because people handle difficult situations, not by Scripture, but by emotions. It's very sad. The disciples said to Jesus...don't you know you offended people...Mth 15:12..
Goodness me, of course Jesus knew. Of course people get offended. But they come back at you with emotion. Not with Scripture.
It's actually quite telling of how they are brought up spititually, who has spoken with them, and how they were counselled. Not with Scripture. But with emotion.
Hence, when a spiritual issue arises, they do not know God's response.
They have only been taught emotional responses. Thats why I don't bother replying to emotion.
Luke 17: 1 people are offended by the truth. People stumble, fall away...because issues are dealt with emotion and not with Scripture.
Jesus says...woe to them. Cursed for making people fall away. Through emotion. Not Scripture.
1 Cor 1:23, 24 the Christian message of correction, love, discipline, of the cross of Christ ..ie Christian message..not idols..the Christian message of correction is handled with emotion. Wrong says Paul. Handle issues with the Bible. They can't as biblical ways of dealing with issues are foolishness to emotional people.
Shouldn't be.
Mth 16:23 Jesus rebukes Peter for his silly emotion..oh..I never leave you...emotion. he did. He was rebuked by Jesus.
Time and again, people just FAIL to see things biblically. They see it emotionally.
They never grow. They never get corrected.
Their " Christianity " is all emotion.
I left that place, early in my Christian walk. Saw them as unstable Christians.
Use Scripture to prove your point.
Not emotion. No grounding in Christ if you approach Christ emotionally.
Saved?
